WHILE THERE WERE NO CANDIDATES TODAY THE VEs HAD A GOOD TIME WITH EYEBALL QSOs. (WE HAVEN'T BEEN 'SKUNKED' TOO OFTEN SO THIS WAS OK I BELIEVE FOR ALL PRESENT).

COMING TO SERVE:  JACK FRANK, TOM QUINLAN, JIM KRAJCIRIK, STEVE HART, GREGG SCHOBINGER (AND MYSELF). STEVE AND JIM ARE OUR NEWEST ARRL CERTIFIED VOLUNTEER EXAMINERS. OUR TEAM HAS STRICT REQUIREMENTS WHICH STEVE AND JIM MEET, OF COURSE.

NEXT VE SESSION: JAN. 28, 2012.

WE HAD ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL SESSION YESTERDAY.  THERE WAS ONLY ONE CANDIDATE WHO CAME FROM HIGHLANDS RANCH AND PASSED THE TECH VERY NICELY.

THANKS TO JACK, SHARON, JUDY AND RAY THOMPSON WE HAD A GOOD SESSION TODAY.  JIM K. AND STEVE H WERE OBSERVERS IN TRAINING.

TWO MEN SIGNED UP TO TEST;  ONE SHOWED UP.  BUT HE WAS IN THE PARKING LOT AT THE PRIEST'S HOUSE (THE RECTORY).  SOUNDED LIKE A VERY NICE GUY, ALL ENTHUSIASTIC AND READY TO PASS THE TEST.  UP ALL NIGHT STUDYING.

HE'S MOVING FROM NEW MEXICO TO HARTSEL!

Despite terrible weather today --- cold, snow, wet roads, a little sunshine, more snow, more sunshine .... Etc. ....

We were expecting six candidates (which is great) but nine showed up instead! We haven't had more than six in ten years -- March 25, 2000 when we had 11. The usual has been one, two or three since then.

Seven of the nine left with a big smile and the coveted CSCE: Two Extra, One General, Four Tech.

Candidates came from Bailey (2), Como (1), Conifer (1), Evans, CO. (1), Greeley (3), and Littleton (1).

Team members coming to serve: Pete (NEØT) Conifer, Jack (WØDSV) Golden, Gregg (NØTWO) Aurora, and Padre.

Thanks to all, candidates and team, who made this a great day of testing.

We had four candidates come for testing. Three left with the traditional “Smile and CSCE”, two of whom upgraded to General Class and the third to Extra Class. All candidates were from a distance: Arvada, Como and Denver area.

We were very happy to have these candidates.

We had three candidates come for testing. One was from Littleton and passed the General (ele.3) exam, the other was from South Park, became a new Tech and is the wife of Bill Sickles, KCØYIH. The third will try again next time.

We had two candidates come for testing, who “Came, Saw and Conquered” (in the words of Julius Caesar). One was from Arvada and passed the Tech (ele.2) exam, the other was from South Park and became a General.

We were very happy to have these candidates, and sorry two others who signed up were not able to make the session because of the swine flu in one case.

Six candidates came for testing. One gentleman came all the way from Eagle, Co. and another from Frederick, Co. Both great distances from Bailey. The other four were more “local,” two of whom are ladies, and one is Dwain’s daughter.

All left, as we like to observe, with the traditional smile and a CSCE. Four are new Techs, and two upgraded to General.

Coming to serve were Pete Krause (NEØT) Pine, Jack Frank (WØDSV) Golden, Daniel Hazen (NØBN) Bailey, Gregg Schobinger (NØTWO) and myself.
